Open Access Strategies
Many organizations are looking for mechanisms to be able to provide free and open access to all output created by researchers and scholars. K|N partners with university presses, libraries, scholarly societies, and other stakeholders to make this goal a reality — strategically, operationally, and tactically. We assist with discussion facilitation, project planning and coordination, advice on rights management, and other services to help OA projects move forward effectively and efficiently.
Strategic Planning for Organizations and Programs
Academic, scholarly, and educational institutions are in constant flux. K|N works with individuals within these organizations to provide them with the strategic processes needed to lead change and with the tools to manage transitions smoothly and efficiently, no matter what the organizational need — strategic planning, leadership coaching, operational efficiencies, team-building, collaborative partnerships, and networking.
Strategic Competencies
Rapid changes in organizational and technological needs require both that that there be ready opportunities to provide ongoing skills enhancements for professional staff working within libraries and that library and information school graduate students be trained to operate within a technologically rich and evolving educational and academic environment. We offer many opportunities for short-term or ongoing continuing education for professional staff, including workshops, consultations, and training sessions.
Grant Writing
K|N can assist clients in identifying appropriate funding sources and developing grant proposals that will help launch innovative projects, exciting new programs, and novel approaches to traditional practices.
